Ronald Martinez - President / Co-Founder / Project Executive

As President of SMC Ron provides vision and direction for the company, leading SMC to become one of the nation's leading specialized commercial construction firms. 

Ron expects staff to be adventurous, creative, transparent, and act with integrity. 

After earning a B.S. degree in Business and Engineering from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona, California, he worked for Fluor Daniels as part of a leadership team responsible for $1 billion in purchasing.

As an early leader in the Retail Contractor's Association, Ron helped set ethical standards in the retail construction industry.

An ordained Deacon, Ron enjoys serving the community through many volunteer ministries.  He is an avid cyclist and world traveler.

Michael Cook - Chief Operating Officer / Executive Project Manager

A 25 year veteran with SMC, Mike is responsible for operations and management of Project Managers.  

A graduate of California Polytechnic University, Pomona, California, he earned a M.A. degree in Administration; prior to SMC, Mike was a high school principal.  

Office and field managers respect and value Mike's forthright style and decisive leadership.

Mike serves as Executive Project Manager for key clients such as Ben Bridge Jewelers. Signature projects include World Market Center, Victoria's Secret, Express, A. Marek Fine Jewelry.

A world traveler, Mike is also an accomplished road cyclist and for some reason, enjoys riding the Rocky Mountains.

Mark Chilton - Vice President, Construction

As Vice President, Construction, Mark possesses a depth of knowledge about managing complex projects, refined through 30 years of commercial construction.

He manages project managers,field superintendents, and estimating and serves as Executive Project Manager for larger accounts such as International Market Center, Amazon, Theory, Fox Restaurant Concepts and Ann Taylor.  

Mark joined SMC in 2006 after traveling the world and earning a Ph.D in English Literature from University of Oregon. Construction has been a central part of his career from an early age as a journeyman carpenter to finish carpenter to Vice President of Quality Construction Managers in Irvine, California.

His interests are with his family with whom he enjoys traveling and hosting guests from around the world.

Susan Eaton - Vice President of Finance

As Vice President of Finance for 11 years, Susan is responsible for her nine person accounting department for both SMC and RRAM.

Susan earned a B.S. degree in Managerial Accountancy from Northern Arizona University and has accumulated 35 years experience in accounting and administrative fields, working in the non-profit community prior to SMC.

As a rare regional native, Susan grew up on a cattle ranch outside of Sedona, Arizona. She has served in many community organizations. 

She enjoys traveling, playing bridge and spending time with her family.

Linda Martinez - Vice President of Business Development

Linda joined SMC in 2004 after many years in the nonprofit community.  Together, she and Ron  enjoy cultivating client relationships and delivering client focused service.

As Vice President of Business Development, Linda is responsible for leading new business growth and launching marketing initiatives.  In addition, she leads a team of eight project support staff.

She utilizes her M.A. degree in Liberal Studies from Northern Arizona University, to empower underserved populations to act on issues affecting them and their communities.  She also enjoys hiking and traveling the world.

Sue Johnson - VP, RRAM Services

Joining the company in 1989, Sue has been integral in the growth of SMC.  She helped develop the accounting department and compliance methods.   This was accomplished while she worked her way through college, earning her Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with an emphasis on Accounting from Old Dominion University.   Sue became an expert in the complex requirements associated with tax laws, state licensing, and construction issues.

She applies her discipline for budgets and planning to her leadership in RRAM Services, where she is responsible for eleven employees and over 3,000 projects each year.  Under her leadership, RRAM is growing their client base while maintaining an impeccable level of service in remodels and repairs .

In her free time, Sue enjoys hiking the Havasupai trail in Arizona and exploring local trails.
